Go you, Doc! Those grit-your-teeth days feel great when they're over...

I've been researching my little brains out, and that's always a great way for me to get ideas. I can see the broader structure of the thing and have that written down. Three characters have come alive in my head, and this last one told me he was the one to start with. I got an opening scene of 420 words written, all action and dialog, and it was dead easy. Felt like it all happened in about the time it took me to breathe twice. Please, oh please, muse, give me more days like this.

2 300 words done last night and early this morning. Plugging away.

That research sounds very focused and helpful Lorna -- so often with research I get carried away and go off on tangents.

1,000 words today on the new book. I almost can't believe I just said that.

867 words in this morning's early writing session. I have my characters scrabbling around in a cave. No wonder I'm starting to feel claustrophobic.

I squeezed out 372 earlier (although most of it is rubbish but that doesn't matter) and am going to try and do a couple of hundred more now. Stomach is rumbling though at all the cake...

Final total for the day is 539. There have been worse days. Now to reward myself with cake!*

*: not really. Pasta instead. Probably healthier.

Haven't wrote anything in a week, maybe longer. A muse is a fleeting thing.

Another thousand words today, just about exactly. How weird is that? During finals, no less.
