Hello Heather! I also have a music background (my bachelors degree is in music composition) and I find that writing music and writing...um...words are actually similar in a lot of ways! Both are things you getting better at with practice (which is also true for playing an instrument or singing) and where that perseverance is generally worth a lot more than "natural talent."

Hi,

I have a Bachelors as well, in Recording Industry Management. I posted this response earlier, but didn't realize that I need to hit "quote" in order to respond to particular message.

Hi regdog,

I'm a bit lost...how do you reach 50? Does this only apply under the "Share Your Work" thread? Can you explain further?

Thank you much,
Heather

Hi heatherm8119!

Welcome to AW!

The 50 post rule allows new users to get used to the software. You can post anywhere you like, but it's highly recommended that if you're looking to have critiques done in the SYW areas, find the area you are interested in and offer a few reviews yourself. This allows you the chance to understand how the forum works, and you get to see the sort of work being posted, and every time you critique a writer, you build equity so that your work (once you top 50) will get some attention as well.

Don't forget to read about AW basics in the Newbie Guide!

Questions about this software can be found in the FAQ's menu in the handy blue bar at the 'top' of this page.

This common acronym list helps identify our mystifying abbreviations.
