Bumping the thread to see if anyone else has material out with Marietta?

Q'd her after seeing her amazing replies to my CP BFF and got the full request in May so still might have a bit of a wait. I'm very impressed by her communicativeness and (of course) with the agency.

I sent a query to her on March 28th and got the request the other day. She wrote back and thanked me for sending it today. That was nice. She'd already read the 2,000 words they ask for in the form submission. Fingers crossed.

I'm going to wait 8 weeks before I nudge the request. Have you done that? That seems like a long time.

Finally got a no to my submission. A bit of a wait, but good to hear the few nice things she said about my ms.

Queried a contemporary MG on 2/16. Heard back from Ms. Zacker today, asking for the first five chapters. Should I be concerned it wasn't for a full? Or do you think it's just a new policy to save time?

I think that is a standard way of requesting material. She's slow at reading material, but when she does
it's obvious she takes it seriously. She made precise comments about my novel that were positive.
She wouldn't ask, if she didn't read good things in your sample pages and query. Best of luck.

I know for me I let disappointments like that get to me too much so I stop sending it out.
I'm trying to get past that and keep my bait in the water, so to speak. There's always
hope when you have new queries out there. Best of luck,

Anything new on this agency or the agents. I'm particularly interested in experiences with Erin Casey, who is newer.

In my experience, Marietta Zacker replies promptly (within two weeks).
