What exactly are you looking for?

A critique, rather than an edit. Yanno.

Impressions, likes and dislikes, anything that doesn't work, that feels contrived or clumsy.

I'm not fishing for somebody to do the work I should do myself.

And I'm also looking for a way to make jazz powered vehicles.

Repped you, Rob.

I got in and out of the grocery in record time, too. The trick is to go early! What's everyone doing for the Super Bowl? I'm eating fried foods and not watching football.

I'll out myself here. I don't even know who's playing.

Wait . . . hold the presses . . . I just saw a commercial. Is it the Ravens and 49ers?

I have recently begun loving the Superbowl. I don't really care about who is playing or who wins, but the energy of that day, is so exciting. There is also the little matter of food, which I am always put in charge of, which means there will be delicious snacks I am sure to like.

I have a deep, philosophical question.

Why is it called the Superbowl?

Do they win an actual bowl?

Susie, you can get an update on NF on Facebook.

Rob, not sure why. There's a bunch of "bowl" games around the holidays which his college football; ie: Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Sugar Bowl (although they all have commercial names now) so I guess "Super Bowl" means the biggest of 'em all in the NFL.

Don't I sound intelligent? *wise jazz hands* :D

Long ago there were two separate leagues; the National Football League and the American Football League. When they started the Superbowl back in the sixties I think they just thought Superbowl would sound good since it was league against league. Now the leagues are divisions within the NFL. Bowl just comes from the shape of some football stadiums; generally a large circle or oval--looking down in to one, it sort of resembles a giant bowl.

Both teams and all the players can buy all the bowls they want. There is a lot of money involved.

Utterly useless fact: Once upon a time, I danced with the Orange Bowl halftime show.

It was a pretty fun time. Good memories, and all that. Seeing the behind the scenes work was interesting.

Anyway, share time's over. :tongue

I can believe that. For a lot of years the highest paid UK athlete was some guy who played in the NBA. The money he was earning dwarfed David Beckham, who at the time was most likely the most famous of our sports stars.

This guy earned billions.

And not a single person in the UK had ever heard of him.

Except for me, of course. But that's only so I could wheel it out as a fact one day.

There was something on the news this morning about Beckham. I didn't pay much attention (not being a soccer fan); something about donating some money and moving to Paris.

The Superbowl is also known for the half-time show (a big production) and the TV commercials. It costs millions for a 30-second spot during the SB.

I am not very interested in this year's SB; the Baltimore Ravens vs. the San Francisco Giants.

Soccer is growing here, but it still has a limited market at the pro level.

The "big sports" here are football, basketball, hockey (I blame the Canadians), baseball, and auto racing; and to a lesser degree overall, golf and tennis.

This is our football stadium, home of the Tennessee Titans. It's more oval than bowl-like.
