The satirical online newspaper The Onion, through its satirical meme machine Clickhole, shows once again that it really gets us. Or me, anyway.

8 Things Never To Say To Creative People.

Now, back to work on my story about a guy in the Yukon trying to build a fire. (He's out there with his dog, it's like 75 below, and he gets his feet wet, and he tries real hard to build a fire, and he knows if he can just build a fire he'll survive, so all his energy is focused on building a fire. I think I'll call it "The Guy Who Was Cold".)

That link is a lovely, rich seam of eye-rolling gifs. :D

Hey, about that story idea, Manuel...

Can I assume you've read Jack London's most famous short story, "To Build a Fire"?

Or have I just rained snowed on your parade?

Hmm...I'm not sure I agree with number one. Writing is almost always fun for me.

Editing...not so much.

I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to speed around the city, keeping its speed over fifty, and if its speed dropped, it would explode! I think it was called “The Bus That Couldn’t Slow Down.”
