There is no way I could list (or even remember) them all. It has to be over a hundred books. I am reading 3 right now.

I didn't keep a list, I know I didn't read nearly as many as scarletpeaches...let's see what I can remember:

The Handmaid's Tale, Margaret Atwood
A Farewell to Arms, Hemingway
Pilgrim, Sara Douglass
Watchers, Dean Koontz (can't help it, I love this book and have read it dozens of times)
A few more Harlequin novels than I care to admit (hey, if you're gonna write it, you gotta read it...)
Several books on writing, the titles of which escape me right now

That's all I can remember off hand, but I know I read more than that.

I love Koontz, and have read Watchers I don't know how many times. Easily my favorite of his books.

Out of the above list, the only one I couldn't bear to finish was The Rule of Four.

Out of curiosity, I counted the number of books that I bought from a retailer. I'm not counting used books through Amazon or any other sources. I count ten that I got from a retailer...I guess that's reasonable support for our industry. I'd be interested to know how many new books others have bought.

From Borders, Waterstone's and the like, I'd guess I bought somewhere around 50. Add on another 20 or so from second hand stores. A further few as gifts.

A lab that's cold enough to have it's own wind.
Well, I'm not going to list all the textbooks I read cover to cover in 2008...especially since they're all geology related and such... but here's what I remember and what stood out from the novel category:

The Idiot
Les Miserables
Loamhedge
High Rhulain
Rakkety Tam
The Thirteenth Tale
Twilight
New Moon
Murder is My Business
Before You Leap: A Frog's Eye View of Life's Greatest Lessons
Beloved
The Bread Givers
How the Garcia Girls Lost their Accents
The Handmaid's Tale
The ABC Murders
Cat Among the Pigeons
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance

And I'm sure there's more...

I buy quite a few new books from Barnes and Noble (my first choice) and Borders (my second choice)...I get lots of gift cards from people, my friends and family know I am a book whore. ;) I also check out the used book section at my local library and buy some good books there. Paperbacks are .50 cents, and hardcovers are $1. Most are only a year or two old and in good condition.
