I was wondering what to do if a literary agent requests to read my manuscript. Do I send it with a cover? Do I have it printed on both sides of a page, or one-sided? And do I leave it double-spaced or single?

I haven't had a request for a full manuscript yet, but want to be prepared if, on the one-in-a-million chance, it does get requested.

Thanks!!!

The main rule is to always follow agent submission guidelines, as stated on their website. In the absence of such guidelines, or if some are missing, follow general submission guidelines, which, I believe, are stickied somewhere on this site. Typically, it's double-spaced, one side of the page, 12 pt type, Times New Roman or Courier font. At the very least, include your name, title of the work, and page number in the header and footer. Some will want your address and phone number on every page as well.

Hope you get a request!
