Murder in Taos, NM. Who investigates?

Seems that inside the city limits, Taos PD investigates. Can anyone confirm?

And if anyone has any links to the chain of command of the Taos PD, I would be grateful.

Are you talking inside the city or inside the pueblo - that may make a difference.

You might want to go to the thread, think it's in story research, that shows AW members by where they're from and see if there's someone from NM who might be able to help you. I've gotten NM question help that way before. Puma

Taos PD takes the call, makes the initial report, and commences the investigation. Depending upon leads developed, they may subsequently seek support from the Taos County Sheriff's Dept., the NM State Police, and if warranted any appropriate federal agency.

A couple of other items of interest. Taos has a central dispatch, a combined 911 system, apparently. (a lot of communities do, btw.). Also. PD there has a facebook page. Reading through it sheds a bit of light on the workings and staffing.
