Groundhog Day is a holiday celebrated on February 2 in the United States and Canada. According to folklore, if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day then spring will come early. Groundhogs are mean and tough, by the way. I've had a few run-ins with them.
If a person gets between them and their burrow, a groundhog will charge right at the person, knowing the surprise of suddenly being attacked by a large rodent will make the human get out of their way.
