In TAJ mermaids are actually large lake parasites. They sit on rocks with there long hair covering there faces hoping to lour in men. They actively hunt for men who enter the confines of the lake because they are very sensitive to the hormone testosterone. That is how they track men who enter on boats or who are stupid enough to swim in the Lake of Ladies.
There faces look much like that of a giant leech and they attach to a man and suck out all his blood. In essence they could attack women, but dont because they cant detect them for there lower levels of testosterone.

I always wanted to do the IB. It's very prestigious, and you can pursue a pretty broad range of subjects. I aced twelve subjects at 16, but had to drop practically everything thereafter. I miss hard sciences and foreign languages. 
Hard sciences suck, trust me. I'm a chem major at a school who takes chemistry very very seriously. I've been clinically depressed for the last 4 years because of my chemistry. Your not missing anything.
I'm freaking out because the school I'm at only offers it in Spanish at the moment and everyone there has been speaking Spanish since they started middle school and I DON'T I WILL DO SO MUCH BETTER IN FRENCH.

Haha don't be, it's brutal. I'm glad I have a shiny medal and all (literally, there's a medal, it's ridic) but it did not make for a fun junior and senior year of high school.
ETA: Honestly Tally if you've already learned one romance language, it's so much easier to learn the next one that you should be fine. They don't expect you to be as fluent as a native speaker, just proficient.

OMG I think I may have figured how to combine the "Darren" subplot and the bullying subplot! The main plot is her going through Hogwarts, but depending on how I go and what I write, this may become the main plot.

Yes, it has. It's already on season 3! I like it so far because I am a Simon/Alisha shipper and a Superhoodie/Alisha shipper.
I have no idea what these IA and IB's are. I've never heard of them.

probably a really stupid question but i notice everyone is using the word "ship" when it come to relationships for characters... what the hell does that mean?
