I swear I read this years ago, but I don't remember where, and I don't remember the term? It's french kissing - but much more than that. It's a thorough exploration of each other's mouths (mouth?), and it could go on for hours.

Warning: do not search for "Japan deep kiss." Also, "French Kiss" is the name of a Japanese pop band.

Sorry, I don't know the answer, but I don't want other people to waste time sifting through mountains of porn, either.

Neptune, the two you just gave were literally "french kiss" and "deep kiss" in English. Which doesn't make them wrong. Just clarifying because I've seen several times where a person uses a word thinking it's Japanese when it's really just the borrowed English word rendered in Japanese characters. Yes, Japan has a ton of borrowed words, but if one were writing and using those words, it makes more sense to just render them in English.

I had a search yesterday but found nothing. I'm very curious if this word exists. (Warning: generalization ahead!) Japanese culture tends to considered kissing a more serious display of affection than we do, so it's not the kind of thing I've ever heard referred to.

Yes, Japanese is like that. For a diversion I searched for a particular Japanese word that would fit your specification, but I believe that it is one of those two that I posted. I read on one site that kissing was not done in Japan before it was introduced in the 1800's.

Things I found and can never unsee:

- Japanese invent french kissing machine
- Eyeball licking: the new french kissing craze to strike Japan

But it seems like a 'french kiss' is called a 'deep kiss' from what I can find (couple sources anyway).. beyond that, I'm not sure what you're asking. You're not looking for a translation, but maybe like.. a slang term? I don't know.

Oh my god, you ended up on the exact same Google results I found! The french kissing machine didn't phase me too much because I've seen the much creepier kiss simulation device they made, but the eyeball-licking trend was horrifying. And why in the world would you call something supposedly attractive "worming"?!

I've been in Japan for more than 15 years while I don't spend a lot of time in places where I would be likely to hear such a term. the only one I have ever heard is deep kiss, or diippu kissu if you want the romaji version.

About the eyeball licking thing? Sorry folks, but that one just isn't true. It was originally a story on some online japanese tabloid site that got picked up and went viral. It's not true. Yes, Japan does have some pretty odd trends at times, but this one isn't one of them.

Oh thank god for that.

It's probably a type of diet :)

French kissing burns about 25 calories a minute!

AW. A very nice place!
... another thing to consider is whether french kissing actually occurs to begin with.
It's possibly it may not, in Japan.
Just like nose-rub kissing doesn't in the Lower 48.
Customs vary. So if you're finding scant material on french kissing
it may just be that it doesn't fly in Japan.
(Women are so pretty in the country maybe couples simply virtually kiss?
A mere look at a gal being quite enough for their suitors till the time comes about for other stuff.)

Kissing with tongues definitely exists in Japan. Off the top of my head, the anime FLCL refers quite a few times to "Did she put her tongue in?" -- it's something of a euphemism there, but still. Also the kissing device I linked a few posts up simulates tongue action and was invented in Japan.

I was just saying, in the even of scant references to such ...
A caveat of sorts. Good you supplied a source.
