Amazon Sales Rank -- Used vs New

While I have a pretty good idea of how Amazon charts their Sales Rankings for new books, I have no idea how they do so for their listed used and out of print books. I don't know if the sales ranks they post for used/out of print books includes a comparison to sales for new books, or if the rankings are compared to only used/out of print books. Does anyone have any idea?

Don't quote me on this but I think sales ranking is based on sheer number sold. In other words, it's not differentiated between 'new' and 'used'.

Around 2004 they started counting used/marketplace books, I am assuming they still do.
