Another Introduction

Hello.

I've been lurking for the past week or so and thought I should register and get to posting since I may want to post some of my work for critique someday.

I'm new to writing fiction- its something I never thought I'd be able to do; but here I am! I have a BA in Classics, which, as you can imagine required quite a bit of research/writing. However, writing a novel is something altogether different. Its something I've always felt a desire to do, but I didn't think I had the creativity to come up with and tell my own story.

I've been writing my current WIP for just over a month and have about 20,000/90,000 words, which astounds me. I never thought I'd get this far!

Feels good to get so far doesn't it? When I wrote my first full length MS, it began as a short story that was only supposed to be about 5 pages. After a few hours of writing, it was over 20.

Keep that enthusiasm. And welcome.

I was going to ask what happened to the letters E through Y and I wrote it as ETOY. Sounded like some kind of on-line game so I don't blame you for dropping it

I know the feeling of being surprised at how far we can get when we are working on a novel. I also lurked a bit while deciding whether to join the forums in an active participation, or just to keep going 'under the radar'. In the end, however, you'll always have some question that no one else has asked, or if they did, you can't find it because there's no search feature if you don't have an account. (Not that I found, anyways).
