Anywhere Special To Post Novel With Some Semi-Risque Details?

Greetings All!

I've been trying to roadmap the site out and find out where the best place will eventually be to post my work in progress.

It has some semi-risque parts. Teen-agers getting into mischief, underage lust, drinking & drug use, tormenting those less fortunate, descriptive sexual moments, breaking the law and jail, as well as many moments of just mayhem in general.

I'm at just over 50,000 words and probably 40 - 45K of those are legit. I feel that i'm about at the halfway mark of my story. The majority of the interaction Between the main character & his desired woman is finished with just a couple chapters to flesh out all of the details still to go.

Working to complete the secondary and tertiary relationships and story lines, where i'm at now, is a bit harder to attack with the same verve and determination ... but i'm doing my best

Anyway, wanted to say hi to all and see if there is anywhere special i should go to look for beta-writers for this type of story.

We have a share your work section for shorter bits, like the first 1,000-2,000 words of your opening (less is more, trust me) Make sure to read the intro threads there and read (and even crit) the other posts in your genre first.

After that, and after you've applied any feedback to your whole novel, is when a beta would best be able to help you. We have a forum for betas too.

From what I read in the guidelines, I think you need like 50 posts or something to post excerpts in Share Your Work forums. I'm in the same boat. Right now, I've been trying to critique all I can and contribute before even posting something on my own. This is a big place and overwhelming.

But that's all I know. Maybe someone with better knowledge could guide you in the best direction to go. Welcome too btw.

Ps- those elements you list are no biggie. Just warn folks at the top of your post once you post a section.

Yes, a notice in the header of "adult content" should be sufficient, unless it's out-n-out erotica, in which it goes in the erotica forum.

If you go to the bottom of the page to the 'forum jump' you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. After you post 50 posts you can use the SYW areas to get help there. The password for some of the areas is…..vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.
