Thanks, guys.

As to the next story, I've yet to sell it. There are very few markets that take this sort of stuff. I'm going to try DSF with it, but I've had a submission there at 31 days now, so the Brent sequel is languishing on my hard drive. If anyone can think of other good markets for such fare, I'd be much obliged :)

Thanks, everyone, for the congrats!

I enjoyed reading the Brent story, Alex. I thought I had read it before, but I guess I hadn't since it didn't seem familiar once I got into it.

As far as the follow-up Brent story -- and this may be straying off-topic -- but if you run out of viable markets have you considered self-publishing it on Amazon, etc.? Straying even further off-topic... I'll be running a series on my blog soon about self-publishing a short story.

I'm ridiculously happy to say that my short story will be appearing in the November edition of Shadows & Tall Trees. That R&R was the best thing to happen to me in a long time :)

Well done Michael and Alex! :)

Congrats, Crunchy Blanket!

A bit of non-acceptance braggage from me. I put a bit of time in over the last couple of days and I've now got my first eBook up for sale at Amazon. The process was interesting and more fun that I expected. Those who read my blog will see some articles about the experience of creating the cover, etc. in the not-too-distant future.

Congrats Crunchy Blanket! And congrats, Michael, for e-publishing your first Amazon story. I'll be bugging you about the results!

Also, please post the link so that we can, you know, buy it :)

And thank you for the kind words about the Shard story, everyone! Between all the feedback on it and getting the awesome looking galleys of my upcoming Nature story, I'm feeling really great today.

I wasn't sure if putting up the link was allowed, since I figure we're not supposed to be doing a lot of actual advertising here or else things could get out of hand really quickly.

But, since you asked so nicely... :) And since I couldn't find anything that said either way, I'll go ahead and post it. If I need to take it down, someone let me know.

Put the link in your sig, Loads of people do that.

You can have a thumbnail of the cover there, too.

Good luck. I hope it does well for you.

Thanks for the suggestion, Lillie. I just did that. And thanks for the good-luck wishes!

Congrats, Alex, on the new story. How much did you have to bribe the editors to get them all coming out at the same time? ;)

Thanks for the comments on the cover, Andrea.

Congrats Crunchy Blanket and (yawn) Alex AGAIN. Actually, Alex, the universe would seem unbalanced if you went more than three days without an acceptance. So keep 'em coming.

LOL thank you! I *think* there's only one more publication news I'll need to announce in the next few days. Then you guys get a break. Promise. Unless I sell more stories... :)

In an effort to single-handedly spam this thread I'd like to announce yet another publication:

"Putting It All Together" is now live as part of the inaugural issue of Nine: A Journal of Imaginative Fiction

http://alexshvartsman.com/2012/04/24/publication-putting-it-all-together-at-nine-magazine/

My next publication announcement may come as early as this Friday (or possibly next) depending on that market's scheduling, and it will be my first podcast :)

After a bit of a dry spell, I have a new acceptance to report. And it's my first semi-pro-paying story! Movin' on up from token, yeah.

My children's story "Feeding Poi to the Koi" was purchased by Knowonder. No pub date yet, since they're re-organizing the whole zine and will resume publication this summer.
