BMW’s new Force Injection Booster simulates the effects of spirited driving, even when commuting at slower speeds, to create a thrilling ride. When activated at speeds under 20mph, the Force Injection Booster (FIB) works by extracting kinetic energy from the car’s engine and converting it into positive g-forces. These are then channelled directly at the driver and passengers through the air conditioning vents, while a mild electric current is delivered through the front seats, to simulate the same exhilarating feeling of driving at high speed.

I suppose I can see the logic.

Kinda.

Couldn't you get a similar effect by making every road surface a backwards-running conveyor belt?

Are BMW drivers that stupid that a little air in the face will make them think they're driving fast?
lol. possibly....

I suppose if the emotional (serotonin) experience is the same or similar to that received from very fast (and therefore dangerous)driving, it might aid road safety. Maybe.

I'd buy one.
I'd like to see the stats first, but yeah, IF I had the money, I do know a nephew that certainly could do with one.

eta. AFAI can tell, orders accepted from the beginning of April. Will be interesting if there's much uptake.

Can't image there will be - at least not amongst the target mkt.

Think they sent that April Fools joke a day too early.

What they need is a button marked 'Warp Speed'. I might even consider buying a BMW if they had that.

And if I had the money.

In the meantime, I'll turn the fan up full blast and pretend.

Interesting!

As Einstein's theory of relamativity says, it is impossible for an observer at rest in his local reference frame to tell whether he is accelerating, or if air is being blown in his face.

A mild electric current through the seat, you say?

Hmmm...I will reserve judgement on this until the chaps at Top Gear offer their well-respected opinions.

I am the deep, dark pit where dreams and fun go to die.

Oh no! That's such a sad place!

ETA: I know! We'll all pitch in and buy you a BMW Force Injection Booster!

Have you seen the price BMW charges for a box to move one from point A to point B?

Or was that a rhetorical question?

I'm waiting for a car maker to tout a vehicle with ludicrous speed. Once they can do that, I'm in.
