How do you know if something is local or not? We have a farmer's market, but I'm still not sure if the produce came from here or if it was shipped in.

Most - I say MOST - farmer's markets tend to be local. Or at least local-ish. But I know the corn here isn't because I drive past the fields on the way to work. And I know when the growing seasons are here for a bunch of things, including strawberries.

:)

I ask. Some places will actually put the state it came from on the sign.

The very best peaches I ever had came from Missouri. I got them at a weird auction place and these things were so juicy, it was like they were under pressure and as soon as you ate one, it burst all over you. Good summer memory....

Why does that sound like something they'd do at a nail salon or spa?

Kind of does, doesn't it?

I had that thought myself, for a moment, and I even know what they really are. I thought the convo had taken another one of those inexplicable (yet often Ted-attributable) turns.

Hmm...mostly the only fields I see around here are the cow fields. :D They grow them locally. Fresh cows all day long, everyday.

Goodnight, guys. My good mood has vanished so I'm off to bed. xx

*smells self*

It wasn't me! It was the damned dog! I'm not sure what Greg's been feeding the damned thing but he's been stinking up the place something fierce. I think he's allergic to onions or something.

I'm going to assume the answer on that is "yes" and not click.

:scared:

Seriously, dude, it's too normal when you're not here.

:D

I do bring a sense of randomness to the party, don't I? Life is like a thread with me posting in it--you never know what you'll get.

mind bleach...

Thanks to a cat and an evil chihuey, my novel is now about evil clowns, vampires, bats, and Chuck Norris.

Not sure they were trying very hard at being helpful.
