Hi all,

I've been an on and off lurker for a number of years. I've got a piece on submission to "Weird Tales" and another in the "Writers of the Future" contest, so I figured it was time to make this official. :hi:

I'm 21 years old, and an english major at Sacramento State here in California. I'm currently working on a young adult novel. I write just about anything though. My ultimate dream is to make a living doing what I love: writing!

I studied in Korea for about 8 months, then traveled in Australia, where my girlfriend lives. I miss her very much :e2cry: I'm taking 21 units in addition to writing a novel and spending time with my little sister, so things are a little crazy.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you. See you around the boards!

Poppy

Greetings and welcome to the watercooler :welcome:

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Newbie Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.

Hi there Poppy, and welcome to AW. When I was a lot younger, I spent some time in Sacramento, living with a family called Morse. Was quite the time of my life!

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Oof, hang in there! My hubby and I dated 3 years long distance and got married this last year when he finally finished school. So, been there and I know what you're going through.

Welcome!

Thank you everyone! What a welcoming bunch. Feels nice and cozy here. :Hug2:

Hm... I like my popcorn drowning in butter. When I lived in Korea all the movie theaters had caramel popcorn and it was so divine. Basically as long as it's crunchy and slathered with butter and/or caramel I'm a happy camper.

Yes long distance is really the pits. She's coming to visit me this summer though, thank goodness.

I'll be sure to read the newbie guide! I sure could use some guidance right now. The forums are a big place, and I'm just a little lost noob. Now that I'm official I should make sure I'm playing by the books.

I'm a girl by the way. :hi:

So glad to meet you all! Really looking forward to my time here. :hooray:

EDIT: Newbie guide has been duly read. I feel well informed and prepared to be a law abiding community member.
