Doesn't sound to me like you'll be "a grade-a ignoramus" if you're bringing knowledge of the cinema to the table. Being able to analyze and appreciate one form of cinema should be a big help, and comparing Russian to other country's/culture's styles should be interesting.

Providing your professor isn't a dickweed and can actually teach, that is. A lot hinges on the professor, but that's any class. IMO, of course.

And coyotes kept me awake lastnight, howling to the warm sky, probably happy for the heatwave we're getting.

We haven't had any coyotes around for years now. They've built houses and schools on what used to be open prarie and now all we get is the occasional fox - and a bajillion rabbits.

They aren't very noisy, but they eat the heck out of the lawn.

Back when we had coyotes, there was a little noise, but our lawns were fine.

Yeah, not enough houses here to matter.

We get bobcats, [sometimes]mountain lions/cougars, and Javelina, regularly through the yard. The occasional skunk too [ew].

And don't have to worry about a lawn, no grass could survive these temperatures

We're getting more coyotes in our area too. They're even walking around downtown Chicago sometimes.

I've been MIA again, but I finally broke the block! I am now on Chapter 16.

Wow - yeah I always thought of them as a desert thing, but since america's wolves have been killed off, coyotes took their place in the food chain. :/

My brother thinks he saw a wolf cross our parking lot about a year ago, but now we think it may have been a coyote instead. Truly beautiful animals...but we are taking all of their land. So, what do we expect when they try to come back home?

Someone on my facebook feed told me that it's mating season for coyote. So maybe that's why you're hearing them so much. Are any of them carrying flowers? Hear any Barry White music? See any of them smoking a ciggerette with a satisfied look on their faces?

I doubt the mating season thing - they sing year round here, it just depends on how close they are as to whether or not they are a nuisance.

Maybe they're noisy little buggers all year round, but according to a quick google, it is mating season.

A bitter conflict in the coyote community is escalating. From mid-January to mid-March, depending on where you live, coyotes are locked in a territorial battle for the right to breed. Mating season mayhem is upon us.

So be careful. They're probably twice as dangerous when they're horny.

Not any more dangers and definitely less common than Javelina -- which are huge pigs and can/do gore people to death.
