I ineptly rescued a frog once. It was sitting in the middle of a road, but I don't think it appreciated my efforts to get it away from the traffic and release back into glorious freedom. It kept trying to hop away.

I ineptly rescued a frog once. It was sitting in the middle of a road, but I don't think it appreciated my efforts to get it away from the traffic and release back into glorious freedom. It kept trying to hop away.

They never appreciate it at first. Turtles are this way. They get very Stern and Disapproving when you remove them from the road, despite the fact that a semi was about to make them into turtle stew. Some of the boogers snap and claw. Give me a nice box turtle any day. I still bear scars from a soft-shell I rescued last year.
Lately turtles have been turning up on our doorstep, looking at our door in bewilderment. Every once in a while we go out just to check, and escort the poor guys to the general direction of the lake.
Once again, I'm the odd man out. While all of you are de-cluttering, I'm still cluttering. God only knows what's under that stack of files. I intend to keep it that way.

This day is lagging. If I didn't have loose ends to tie up, I'd ditch this place and head to the beach. It's awesome outside.
