Anybody else write romance for NaNo?

Now that NaNo and November are done, I have 50K on a paranormal romance done.

Anybody else work on a romance of some type?

How do you feel about what's come out so far?

I wrote two 1st POVs in widely-varying-length chapters, but I like it so far. It's my experimental little book I hope someone else will love, too.

Mine was a category type romance. Nothing too complex, plotwise, more of a character development piece.

I did. Historical Romance with steampunk overtones/elements, I guess you could call it. But it was about three women and their loves, not just one couple. I seriously doubt any one would want to pick it up, but I love it, so I'll keep working on it.

Both my NaNo from last year and this year's were varieties of romance. Last year's was a contemporary, mainstream work. This year's is harder to categorize...manga/japanese light novel inspired type romance...closest is probably paranoraml romance since it has a demon hero and demon antagonists

Last year was my first NaNo and first attempt at a romance. Figured it would be a bit easier than an epic fantasy, which is all I wrote before. Now all I write is romance.

Historical romance both years. Maybe next year I'll try something non-historical, but I can't see me writing anything other than romance. I don't think it's possible.

I tried my hardest to write straight fantasy for NaNo... within 3 pages I reverted back to my old ways. LOL

I started to. I got about 20,000 words in and realized why it wasn't working. I liked it enough to go back and try to fix it, which means that I didn't finish NaNo, but I still really like the way this second incarnation of the story is shaping up.

I wrote an erotic romance.

Although I'd originally planned on selling this one to one of my publishers, I've since realized it's going to be a tough sell. I broke one of the (unspoken-ish) rules of romance, but it's my story and that's the way I wanted to write it. We'll see what happens.

I made a friend cry with a chapter from my NaNo! SQUEE! I sent it to a couple friends to read to see if it had the right emotional impact, yet, and she cried. Sorry I made her sad, of course, but yay for reaction!

Don't feel alone, my first book's characters are married. You'd think there would be someone interested in a couple that's just having issues and not divorced, but not so far. :Shrug:

I did, I did! A contemporary bordering on erotic. Got stuck at 45K the last few days, between Thanksgiving and college kids at home I just couldn't find that last fix to get into the win column.

Yes I struggled with NaNo this year so started two full length romances, one contemporary and one Regency, and wrote two complete short story romances
