TEXAND, I assume you were attempting to submit to this Seven Locks Press. Why? They seem to be a very small press, which hasn't updated its website since 2009. I've never seen any of their books in stores, never seen a review of any of their books, never heard of them.
Even apart from the issues alleged about mismanagement in this thread--I haven't investigated the accuracy of those claims--I don't see any compelling reason to choose them as a publisher. An ineffectual publisher does your work no more favors than a nefarious one; a small publisher with no distribution plan in place will not get your work to any more readers than a vanity press will.
(Jim Riordan is the principal in the Seven Locks Press of Santa Ana--the one to which TEXAND was submitting--not the other Seven Locks Press.)
