I'm setting aside my first manuscript for now. It was rejected by several agents who I would like to consider my second manuscript. Do I mention in the query letter for novel #2 that they had read a previous partial of mine? Does this help the cause? Or will that just remind them, "oh yeah. I didn't like her writing the first time." Thanks! Lisa

Personally, I wouldn't, unless they rejected the full with a specific "I like your work but this one isn't for me, but please send me another project when you have one."

I agree completely. I only mention this to agents when they made specific feedback and offered to look at future projects.
