Not a royal bone in my body - unless you count my great-grandfather, who was the Pearly King of his East End borough. :roll:

Useless factoid: My grandfather came to South Africa after WWI and founded a long-distance marathon known as the Comrades Marathon. It's become an international thing now with thousands of people coming here every year to run. And I'm the only one in the family who hasn't run it.

This is probably politically incorrect but I must say that while watching the Thames pageant on tv last night, I could not help but think how glad I was that the Queen yielded so graciously when my country asked her to leave. My very British husband was happy to point out that the British were ready to quit anyway. Yeah right, so they keep saying but they had proven unfit to rule by then and needed a face-saving way out.

Ok. So we had some excitement. for those who don't follow me on Twitter, a huge gorgeous ginger tomcat came a checkin' out my porch. Cricket was beside herself! She chattered at him and meowed and meowed. He just sat there, staring at her like "what's wrong with you?" Then he went and laid down while this hysterical female is crying and going on. It was funny. He was so gorgeous.

Then he left us, and she was bereft... stared after him, knowing he wasn't coming back... then she went and chowed down at the food bowl, and then stared after him some more... now she's laying on her bed (a blankie and my ottoman - the cat is the only one in this house with a place to sit, seriously!) being very dramatic.

The most interesting Tom in the world....

Aw.

How sweet! I hope he comes back to visit your Cricket (which is an awesome name for a cat!).
