New from California

Ahhh, the obligatory awkward intro post. How well I know thee...

Well, here it goes.

My name is Rose, I’m twenty-two, and I live in Orange County, California. I’m undecided on the serial comma, but leaning pro today. I write young adult novels. I am currently in the process of editing two, and I will NOT write anymore until I get these edited. Pinky promise. I mean it this time.

Anyway, after NaNoWriMo this year, I was looking for a more manageable and professionally oriented board. Thankfully, one of my lovely Wrimos (I’m the Municipal Liaison for South Orange County) pointed me in the right direction. (I didn’t catch her username on AW, but if she’s out there -- maybe she will notice this post so she can get credit for the referral.) After lurking for a bit, I joined. So far, this board seems like exactly what I’m looking for. So, thanks to everyone for making it such a great place to learn – even as a lurker I feel like I have learned so much.

I can't seem to find the Share Your Work part of the site. Do you have to have 50 posts to view it or am I just blind/stupid?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

That's what I planned to do...test the water, help others, all that good stuff. I just couldn't find where to do it.

Thank you (and everyone) for being so welcoming. So many boards are like "OMG N00B SHUNNNNN" and so I feel very blessed that all of you are so kind.

And yes, i found SYW and I am already reading and commenting there.
