'A completely fictional piece of entertainment'?/Scare-mongering?/Predictive programming?/A deliberately controversial piece designed to raise ad revenues through publicity?

Whether it's 'a completely fictional game' or foreshadowing of deathly serious things to come, at the very least one has to question the newspaper's motives/the editorial decision behind the publication of 'Blackjack' - how on earth can they justify publishing it? Last time I checked, national newspapers don't normally solicit fiction...
