Hi! I'm a new writer who has just started writing seriously. I live in the Eastern U.S. and enjoy a few hobbies such as martial arts. I prefere Action/Comedy/Adventure themed stories involving different medias. I am starting to read books again, (stopped for a while due to life) enjoy some T/v, (mainly anime. Hate all you want I find it most interesting) and manga. I'd just like to point out I do not like anything that has to do mainly with vampires. It's a personal bias. I feel like the whole thing is sort of out of control. I prefere light-hearted stories as I think life is depressing enough. I respect all writers (even in genre's I dislike) and am looking forward to bouncing idea's off all of you! Hope I talk to you some time, Andrew

Greetings and welcome to the watercooler :welcome:

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Traditional Irish Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.

I'm right there with you -- just starting to write seriously, in those few moments I can find in the day to actually do it.. I've been carrying this novel around in my head for years and am now trying to get it on paper.. even made my very first post on this forum last month.. best of luck!

There's nothing wrong with anime :)

I prefer the bittersweet and outright depressing, but have been on a lighthearted kick for a while. Haven't found a new series I'm excited about, though.

amrose if you ever give a lighthearted manga/anime a chance I would highly suggest One Piece. It's not for everyone, but a lot of people I know like it quite a bit!

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the ‘forum jump’ you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. Most of the SYW areas require the password of ….vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.
