So, I'm ready to submit my ms to agents and most of them want the query copied into an email, which is easy, but I'm not sure exactly what to put in the subject line. Should it be the title of the book followed by the the word query and my name?
Thanks in advance,
Red

There's probably no single right way. I'd probably start with the word Query, then the title, and depending on how much room remained, leave my name out of it.

Query, "The Somewhat Long Title of My Book"

Like that. If I were to add any further info, I'd lean toward genre rather than author name.

Romance Query, "The Slightly Shorter Title"

Maryn, thinking this isn't as important as it may seem

Many thanks, Maryn. I'm probably being paranoid :)

I did "Query: Wings of Death", without the quotation marks.

I agree; this is probably not a big deal, but it's the perfect type of thing to get paranoid over! :)

I might add the word count. Almost like it's the last line of a query:

"Query: Bordering on Bedlam, memoir, 80,000 wds."

but I'm horribly new to all of this...
