Sorry, Aggy. I hope you find a market that's a perfect fit soon :)

Got a rejection today from Brain Harvest. I really thought this story was their style. Shows you what I know ;)

Bummer on all the rejections everyone. Hopefully my rewrite will be "perfect" this time hehe. Should finally finish it tonight, and have it edited by tomorrow.

Sorry about the Rs, everyone.

Faery, they seem busy at Brain Harvest today.
I'm on tenterhooks (what the hell are they?) because I have something with them too, so I'm waiting for my R to come in.
It's my weirdest story.
If they R it I'll just have to write something weirder for them.

Get those rejections back out there, everybody.

I had a really disappointing one today. I thought it would be one I'd be pretty upset over, and I was bummed for about 5 minutes. Didn't cry or anything, and I'd imagined I would, as goofy as that sounds. Within 15 minutes, I'd made a couple of necessary changes to submit it elsewhere and sent it off. Still sucks that it was rejected, but it's a good story, and it will find a home.

Feel free to repeat that as needed. No charge.

Redstone Science Fiction just told me that mine was the 8th best they received. Which... was not good enough.

Is that an...odd thing? Do they actually assign the stories a numerical value?

Or am I clueless? That seems far more likely.

Sorry for the not good enough part though. :Hug2:Onward.

They announced when they'd read them all and had 17 left, so I guess they gave those an order. On the upside, I've already sent the piece off again, this time to Analog. And they'll take it, damn it!

Atta boy!

I'm feeling at a loss as to where to send something next. It's at Asimov's at the moment, but, well, it's at Asimov's, so I'm making plans for where it goes next. :)

Anyway, it's kind of in the gray zone when it comes to fit. Fish, people, fishpeople, parenting...sigh.

Without having read it, I can say that, if you want a rather fishy market, you could try here.

Huh....I can knock out a fish story in 35 days.

Challenge accepted.

Then I shall see you upon the field of battle, ser! Of course, I haven't even started the story, and have several others I want to write first, so it's questionable if I'll ever show up on the aforementioned field. But, you know, if I did it'd be cool and all. Right?

In less lost-the-point news, I just realized I wont be able to send Redstone something for their next quarter, which annoyed me. All my SF stories are occupied, and my current tale's both long and fantasy. Feels a shame to not try after coming so close, though...

Dagan Books is a cool venue, I definitely hope to see many of you submitting to the "Fish" anthology. I may send something in also, have been working on a story that somewhat fits the theme.

Yeah. It's at DSF, so I should have it back in time.
