Okay, this is a woozy convoluted one but it should be fun and if you actually take a stab at it the answer should pop out pretty easily.
M.C. SCARED / TWISTY EYEBALLS / FEETAILISH / POINT AT NEVER / RISERIGHT
1) Artist / Scientist / Work by the artist as well as discovery of the scientist / What the scientific discovery is about / What the art work depicts
2)M.C. SCARED is a hint for the scientist
3)TWISTY EYEBALLS is a hint for the artist (kind of what he gives his audience...)
4) FEETAILISH was clearly an attempt to use up the last of the letters. None the less it's surprisingly apt. (Those who can't tell their ass from their elbow might simply have a different point of view after all...)
5) POINT AT NEVER ....well, this is obscure and far fetch, but it *could* describe the scientific discovery. Or its implied limitations... well, it could with a massive grain of salt .... (how massive? well that depends whether you are coming or going and just how fast ...)
6) RISERIGHT was also an attempt to use up letters *but* it does describe one third of the painting...
Okay, I know it seems impossible. But I've actually given enough hints that it should be easy to solve with 1% inspiration and 99% seperepation.
