So I really need a job. I wrote an email replying to a 3 week old ad looking for a bookseller at a kids bookstore, ranting about what a huge fangirl I am of kidlit and YA. They wrote back and said they weren't hiring but they loved my enthusiasm and they would keep me on file
This weekend I have an interview for a really bitching job at a summer camp at the beach. Fingers crossed!!!!! I have to bring a kids game for 20-30 adult interviewees to play--anybody know one that is super fun? We used to do a lot of team-building/icebreaker games at the last camp I worked but I am struggling to remember any thrilling ones.
I hope you get the job, Kitty! You'd be perfect for it.
How many adults will be there to play the games? I can't think of anything, really, except for icebreaker stuff for big groups. Like the hoolahoop pass, where everyone stands in a circle, holding hands, and have to pass a hoola hoop around the circle (so, you have to throw it over your head, shimmy, step in and out of it, pass it onto your neighbors arm).
And then there's this game where you have at least two groups of people. You lay two quilts on the ground, and each group has to have every member completely on the quilt (no part of any member's body can be touching the ground outside the quilt). Then you fold it in half. And again. And again. Until the space is very, very small. It's all about teambuilding (and smarts).
Those work best with big groups of people, though.
What about basic field day games? Three-leg race? Simon Says. Stuff like that?
Margaritas for everyone!
Happy Birthday Smish!!!
*opens trap door to room full of margaritas, cupcakes and snickerdoodles....and of course more bouncing.*
Thanks! I'm in a bit of a sugar coma, now.
