This is about Joan Timberlake. My apologies if this agency has been discussed before, but I couldn't find any threads about it. Anyway, has anyone had any dealings with her? And is she still in business? Her blog hasn't been updated in a couple of years and the e-mail I sent her came back undelivered. Here's a couple of things I could find about her:

Thanks.

The agency website is here: http://www.timberlakeliterary.com/index.html

(assuming it's the same Joan Timberlake?)

As far as I know, they sold one manuscript to Bella, a small lesbian press (which does not require agented submissions); the book came out about a year ago. The website doesn't list any other sales or client names.

Okay, well, with lack of sales, I'll skip her. Thanks for your help!

Bella is an amazing press, but as someone mentioned above, you don't need an agent to submit to them. If this agent doesn't have any other sales...probably not worth your time.

IMO, if you are planning to submit your ms to someplace like Bella or Bold Strokes Books, AND you have no knowledge about publishing contracts and negotiating them, AND Ms Timberlake has sufficient experience, then it would be worthwhile trying to secure her as an agent and letting her negotiate your contract (for a 15% cut).

Just a note for the record that Timberlake-Oliver (formerly at timberlakeoliver.com) became Timberlake in '11. Still only the one sale.

Site's gone, and conference mentions cease '13.
