Hi!

I don't really have much to say, but thought I would do an intro if people want to know who I am.

One day, whilst sitting at my desk at work, I happened upon the easiest way to get rich quick.

I decided I would write a novel. It would be easy. I would submit it. It would be published.

And faster than you could say "JK Rowling, eat your heart out", I would be rich, famous and have a bevy of beautiful women dying to be with me.

Seven Years Later.....

I think I should have thought out that get rich quick scheme a little more.

I'm currently in fulltime employment, plugging away at my first novel (YA Urban Fantasy), in every spare moment I get. Most of my writing is done on my Iphone on the tube to work or back home (hence the username!).

Hopefully, I'll gain lots from being on these forums and I hope to make new friends and more importantly, mentors to help me and I hope that I can also be of some help to others!

See you on the forums!

Welcome to the Water Cooler. Yeah, it's amazing how fast we realize the answer to "How hard could it be?"

Welcome. I know exactly how you feel. When I started, I thought, "Oh, how hard could it be?" Oddly enough, the longer I write, the more difficult I realize it is. I can't even count the number of times I've thought about giving up. But I know I want to be a published writer, and I will keep working at it. Hope you do too.

Hello to you, and welcome to AW. About getting rich in writing, well it's not for everyone. I only know a couple of fellow authors who can actually live from the profits of their novels. Another, fairly succesful one, still works half time. I also work as a teacher, and do my writing in my spare time - looking after my rights to a pension and anyway we don't work in education, eh?
