Lisa i found this guy on an online dating website, so trust me, I'm NO ONE to be compared too, since i had to resort to online to finding even a friend! And before this i met my ex by pure luck and coincidence. If I hadn't gone to the program he was at too, i probably would have been single till now honestly.

Spent the day doing volunteer work. I'm sooo tired.

I also got my yearbook and cap & gown, which reminds me how close I am to graduating. Can't believe next week is my last week of high school forever.

And even though it's the day before, I decided to do Camp NaNo with one of my SNIs just to see where it goes.

Trying to do the list of qualities of ideal men that the girls do in TPCL, but I'm struggling. Suggestions? Already have:

Its only funny if its really specific, Lisa. "Dark hair, glasses but not nerdy, sings in the shower, cooks tacos," etc.

So, here's your automatic chick lit formula:

Girl creates hilariously and scarily detailed list of traits her dream guy has. Meets a guy who is none of those things but falls in love anyway.

Really typical formula. Where you make it unique is in the multiple characters. Some meet the 'right' guy, some don't Some meet each other's guys. They set each other up and fall in love with the wrong people and it's all sweet and hilarious and lovely.

And... SOMEBODY DIES.

(that's just me)

And there you go! Individual lists, like "Likes cats, sings in shower, wakes up around 8:00 AM, likes to cook french toast, loves Broadway musicals but isn't gay, very well read, 6'1", black hair and glasses but not in a nerdy way, not buff but lean and strong, will give me vaguely Eurasian children" or something ridiculous.

And then one lady only puts down really sensible things, like "Shares my values, treats people well, good work ethic" and all the girls are FRIENDS and MUST TALK ABOUT THINGS OTHER THAN GUYS WITH EACHOTHER BECAUSE FRIENDSHIP IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ROMANCE.

HELL YES, WE MUST HAVE LOTS OF FRIENDSHIPS. AND THEY MUST TALK ABOUT THINGS LIKE WORK AND FAMILIES AND EACH OTHER. A LOT.

Here's what my SNI is about:

SANDFIRE is a young adult fantasy set in a desert-like land where men and women are at war with each other, desert monsters rise up from the sand, and men called 'lurkers' kidnap young girls and sell them to the king.

When Naima's (the main character) little sister, Tamara, is kidnapped, she goes on a journey to get her back, only to come into contact with a unicorn whose mind she can 'read', and a mysterious boy who doesn't talk. Together they infiltrate the palace, Naima disguised as a desert Lord, and the boy disguised as a servant. Sword fights ensue, and against her better judgment Naima falls in love with the prince.
