Hi all,

I've already made a few posts, but I still have much to learn about this site. So, I wanted to say hi. But, before I say anything else, perhaps I should introduce myself.

My name is Deanna Proach, I am 23 years old, and as you can tell by my status, I am a Canadian, and proud of it. I am a, what you might call, and emerging writer. I write history articles for Suite101, and write for Helium (currently not an active helium writer at the moment). Between the two emagazines I've wrote and published 17 articles, so far. I am also in the process of writing a Historic Fiction set in 18th Century France. The historic Fiction is my first book, so when I'm done, I'm definately going to be looking for advice and help in the Book Publishing world.

I am happy to be here. I am also very excited to read your writings, and to have the opportunity to work with other writers.

Check out my website at www.deannasworks.synthasite.com and some of my articles at
http://medievalhistory.suite101.com

Hello to you, Deanna, and welcome to the Cooler. I also write historical fiction, so if you need some advice, you may always contact me. One of my projects for the coming year is a novel about 18th century France, as a sequel to another book of mine.

Somewhere in my mind... it echoes in here ...
Welcome to AW, Deanna, It's always nice to see a new face around here who loves writing. This is a great place to learn and polish your novel, and once that's finished to find help in querying and finding an agent. There's miles of corridors to wander and many things to see. Settle in and have a great time; hope to see you posting soon.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, which is in a sticky thread at the top of the Newbie Forum. If you have any problems you can PM (private message) me and I'll see if I can help, or you can post in the Super-Dooper Newbie 'Ask the Mod' thread at the top of the newbie forum.

To find out about the various buttons and icons, and also about rep points, how to PM (private message) members, custom avatars and a whole host of other useful stuff, check out Cathy_C's thread, which is also stickied at the top of the Newbie forum, Next on our tour, if you'll look to the left, you'll notice...

And for fun, we have the terrific Newbie Question of the Day thread. Pop in and have a go at answering a few of the really easy questions (the link is in the sig line below). They are easy. Yep, they are. And it's so much fun.

We also have a brand new Super-Dooper Newbie 'Traditional Irish Pub' thread where you can come and relax, have a drink and practice posting whilst chatting to other newbies and not so new newbies .

Oh, and do you like double choc-chip cookies?
