Both parties contribute to the gridlock and lack of legislation.

The ironic part is that here is legislation that actually passed, and it's ineffectualness is directly caused by the very fact the party pushing it had to make compromises to get it through.

I think that's what bb is saying, and I agree.

We've got a weak and unpopular President who has little clout with Congress and a healthcare program that threatens to turn the Senate over to GOP hands. Then we have Harry Reid who claims that every advertised problem with the ACA is a lie.

So the GOP is playing out the clock, unwilling to put forth proposals that might reflect negatively on them.

There's not much governing going on. It's all about politics and the next election.
