You know, that's an expression I have always wondered about.

I know pancakes = hot cakes, or at least I think they do, and I am very fond of pancakes. But why they should sell any better than any other food, to the extent where they have become the ur-example of things selling, is beyond me.

.... Also, I've just made myself hungry for pancakes.

It's official.


I do not get paid until Feb 10th. That is a month and a half from the last time I was payed. I half-joked about this in our last week of employment.

I am much less jocular now that is a reality.

Ouch, that sucks Bos. Do you atleast get a larger check on the 10th?

That does suck, bos. I get paid every two weeks and that's like an eternity. Probably because the money is gone before I even get it. I hope you get a decent paycheck to make up for it.

Yes and no.

It will be larger because I'm working one more class than usual - even without the fifth class we're probably adding - and I get paid per class. So there will be more in it.

But no, in that I get paid the same number of times over the semester as before, including one last payment that comes after the end of classes.

I have enough to get me from here to there, but there's a rent payment in there, too, and it's going to be a little tighter than I have been in a while.

No offense to you and your profession, but I really need to get my lawyer paid off and get that expense out of my monthly budget.
