No, but it involves not worrying about whether your mind is behaving or not.
And also not worrying about writing and whether it is ever going to happen again or when or not.

I can board for $15/day. Technically, I wouldn't need to get a baby gate (which she very realistically could jump over anyway) because I could just shut her up in our bedroom. The problem there is that she'll scratch up the inside of our door, and we'll end up having to replace/pay for it when we move out... So it's a issue of boarding vs. new bedroom door (on top of the 4 sets of mini-blinds we have to replace....) |

Just got a PM, and I was thinking, Cool, someone I know has a question or a cool thing to share or something.
Opened it, and it was spam (the poster is already banned). #firstworldproblems

"Dear" Student Loan Agency,
You are an incompetent, pathetic waste of space. I should not have to continually call you to fix YOUR inability to manage your accounts properly. I am not delinquent in my payments; you are just idiots. Rot in hell, Rachel77 |

In my capacity as a technical writer for a small software company, I produce user manuals. The content in the user manuals has to be reviewed by the software engineers (because they're the experts re: the software).
Well, this round, two of the engineers, while reviewing it for content, decided it needed to be completely reviewed for grammar/punctuation, too--which is not their role. They got their manager involved. He got my manager involved. It was a fairly big hullabaloo. I said I didn't care. If they made good points, I'd make the changes. If not, I'd reject them. I got it back, and there are just tons of revisions... like removing every single semi-colon and rewriting perfectly fine sentences into perfectly fine alternatives... Lots of wasted time doing this, and now I have to vet them all. I don't have a particularly large ego at work--I'm fine being corrected when I'm wrong--but to be honest, people taking up precious time in the schedule to correct things that aren't actually wrong really irritates me. |

Just a wee mini vent.
Sent hubby to the shop for a couple items. He gets home and tells me he has some bad news about the car. Apparently the car decided to go for a wander all by it's lonesome while hubby was in the shop. The car wandered into someone's wall... Hubby swears he put the handbrake on. Hubby can't for the life of himself remember if he walked to the front of the delinquent car before getting in it to reverse out of the person's wall or not. He also can't remember if he had to release the handbrake to be able to reverse. Being so sure that he had put the handbrake on (I'm not so sure...) the only explanation is that the handbrake failed. Hubby then parked the car at home, on a slope, and didn't bother putting the naughty car in gear to prevent it running off again. Then to top it all off he gets sulky because I justifiably want to know what happened to MY car. |

That's hilarious, JustKia. Sorry about your car.

Ditto what Bufty said, JustKia. I'm very sorry about your car, but that is a pretty funny story.
(And I empathize with your husband, too. I get crabby and sulky also when I suspect I've done something really, really dumb...) |

In fairness (now I've had a chance for a good look) there isn't really much damage to the car - just a few scratches on the plastic (is it really plastic?) bumper.
Hubby has been forgiven. It's not the first and won't be the last time he does something incredibly daft

Using hashtags when you aren't on twitter. Especially using hashtags in a spoken conversation.
Hell... using a hashtag on twitter would probably drive me nuts as well. Not much of a rant but boy does that flick my enrage switch. |

My SO does it occasionally when I'm griping about a social issue, generally accompanied by an eye roll.
Is it fair for me to be a little incensed by the fact that someone routinely interrupts my work for a last-minute edit on something that "has to go out today!" and then doesn't use a single one of my edits, including the ones for blatant typos? |

Yes. Not only is it fair, but gluing a pine cone to the butt-cushion of their writing chair would also be fair.
