Tri, your cover is vivid and strong. It grabs attention, and does not let go. Let it do its work.

WritingDemons, I hear you on villain POV chapters. I have a few (third person) which establish information that couldn't be given any other way. My villains are dark enough that I don't want to be in their heads for a first-person POV section.

Never done a villain PoV. I'm so useless with PoVs that I just get a stranglehold on one or two of them and hang on tight. :tongue

Meant to lounge around and do nothing today.

Instead, went shopping and to the pool and for coffee and was gone all damn day.

Bright side, kids had fun, and I got oldest a nearly complete school wardrobe at A&F for less than $300. AMAZING sale. If any other moms have kids who covet these clothes and you can’t ordinarily afford the underwear in that store (like me) — GO! It’s 100 degrees out and no one wants sweaters and jeans right now. Scored her a beautiful peacoat (reg $95) for $30, and many of their $40 tee shirts are $5. :) Jeans were $15.

(((Lisa and kitteh)))))

WD, HA!

Tri, I repped you, but I like it, too. :)

Hope everyone had a nice Sunday. Anyone going on vacay this week for the holiday? Hubs is off W, Th, and F. :snoopy:

Hugs to OL. :(

I went sailing once it was HARD! My friend and her boyfriend kept urgently telling me to do stuff and I had no idea what they meant. It is nice sleeping in a sailboat though -- that part I like.

Tri, your cover works fine. It lacks subtlety, perhaps, but sometimes readers just want to know what it's about. Wolves!

I leave for a few days and I return Pitless?

Who knew the Hellhounds were so well connected!

Vacation week for me. Be well, purgatorians.

Also: tri, I like the cover. It's a real keeper.

I made fresh salsa (not garden fresh, just as opposed to stewed) and Mom and I promptly devoured over half of it.

It was yummy, but now I'm not sure I have room for the chicken tacos she's making.

back from the fair!

another super full weekend, and
i'm still so tired! ha! i look forward to
next weekend when i have nothing
much to do!

fair food consumed:

italian sausage with peppers and onions
and i paid extra for kraut. i LOVE kraut!

funnel cake with powdered sugar. it's the
way i like them best. shared 1/3 of it (or a bit
more?) with bubs.

a orange julius pina colada! did you guys have
orange julius? not sure if it's a west coast thing
but they were making "smoothies" (not really)
before the whole thing became trendy. very
sweet and probably all sugar and no fruit. yum.

a side of mexican rice. (most of it i stuck in
the fridge.)

on top of that a delicious brunch with
author friend and i can't move now. ha!

WD, very interesting.

i loved writing from my antagonist's pov.

i've heard it said that your hero/ine is only
as strong as your villain.

Mmmmm, sauerkraut! I love it too! And did you know that it's really good for you? All that fermented stuff like that, and kimchi (which I also love) is full of probiotics, very good for your digestive health.

I grew up on Orange Julius! Yeah, I think it's a west coast thing.

That explains a lot about my inability to write a decent novel. :tongue

+ 1 :D

Today's lesson:
Never, ever, ever take anything or anyone in life for granted.
You never know what's waiting round the fucking corner.

And, no, not me or mine we're fine.

(((Fire)))

Morning, all. Repped a bit to catch up but am woefully behind. I see shit was exploding all over the place this weekend. Goodbye Pit? :(

Speaking of, was in CT for my IL's redneck July 4th celebration: booze and fireworks deep in the woods. This year was made more exciting by one of my FIL's mortars failing. It never launched and blew the tube instead. So there's an odd-sounding explosion but nothing shoots upward. Then all of a sudden green sparks coming flying at me. Only a few minor burn injuries occurred (not to me), but I could have lived without the excitement.

{{{ink}}} Very glad you're okay!

{{{fire}}} and I agree.

X-Cin, we had Orange Julius on the East Coast too. I have the copycat recipe and make them every so often. Nom. Would you like it?

The kids are all moved into their apartment. Awww. The GF is here till Thursday, then has to go back to Roch. for work. She's moving in FT in August.

They're also coming over every night for supper. :) I like it. I'm such a mom.

This made me laugh. Under the scary horror writer, spatula-wielding exterior, Lily is a softie. ;)

No need for hugs, though always appreciated. It was quite something seeing what a firework looks like up close, let me tell you. (But not something I need to see again.)

Morning all.

Thanks for all of the recipe ideas! That totally helps!

I once had a mortar shell burst out of the side of a paper tube and whack into my shin and explode. Luckily it exploded and went away from me otherwise I would have had a worse injury than a small burn on my leg. (a drunk was setting them off near us and well... yeah.)

We didn't have Orange Julius in Michigan, but when we moved to Arizona, yum!

Does anybody else have Egee's, or was that just a southern Arizona thing? Harder-frozen than a Julius, lemon flavor with chunks of lemon and just the right sweet-tartness. I've never owned a blender capable of getting ice to the perfect consistency, though. Tragedy!

Lilypie, I'd love the make-your-own Orange Julius recipe if it's handy.

We went to a triple-A league baseball game last night, and got great seats in the third row (cheap, too, compared to the bigs). How can the two teams field twenty athletic young men, not one of them handsome? It's a mystery. But I enjoyed myself with a Honey Brown, a Zweigle's hot dog, and some first-class people watching.
