Gringolandia by Lyn Miller-Lachmann. I have such high hopes for this book, though I'm only a few pages in. Hopefully I will not be disappointed :D

Just finished Horns by Joe Hill. Okay, but not my favorite.
I really enjoyed The Writing Circle by Corinne Demas. Well written and interesting.

I see there are a few David Sedaris fans in this thread. I just finished Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk, my first book by him. I'm a little disappointed our local library doesn't have any other Sedaris books.

I'm reading Hannah Tinti's The Good Thief now.

Just finished The Dragon Reborn by Robert Jordan. The depressing thing is that I would probably actually really enjoy this series if I didn't hate the characters so much. I don't know whether to continue with it now. It's a big series.

Also just finished The Boy with the Cuckoo Clock Heart, by Mathias Mazlieu, and by contrast, really liked it. It was short and odd and actually pretty lovely.

And I'm about to start Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld. I hear good things.

Peter Rabe, Stop This Man! Copyright (and presumably originally published) 1955. Reprint in the late, lamented Hard Case Crime series from Dorchester. (I hope someone will step up and fill that niche. Not impressed by the folks who took over the HCC subscriptions. I cancelled.)

Tonight I will begin PYGMY by Chuck Palahniuk. Last month I learned to spell his name from memory, quickly and easily. I rock.

(I can also say Israel Kamikawiole and Shumani Tutonka Obwachi from memory, but they're probably not spelled right.)

PYGMY by Chuck Palahniuk. I kinda lost the thread there...

Just borrowed Adv of Huckleberry Finn from the library. Am doing a beta read right now, but will start the Twain as soon as I finish. Figure I should read Huck while I still can.
Revisionists have been busy. Try Googling Huckleberry Finn and Zombie Jim. My associate Ferman Q. Hardleby has made his on contribution to that sub-genre.

Irregular Creatures by Chuck Wendig is quite good. I love a good short story collection.

Then I'll begin the aforementioned Pygmy by Chuck Palahniuk.

These may be the only authors named Chuck that I know.

I've just finished JUMPER by Steven Gould and gone straight onto Amazon to buy the sequel. Excellent book - I watched the film first and it is TOTALLY different - the bad guys in the film don't even exist in the book, and the characters are totally different...

Slave Narratives: a Folk History of Slavery in the United States.

The Practical Distiller An Introduction To Making Whiskey

(In other words, I just bought a Kindle and I'm too f**ing cheap to pay $20+ for e-books, so I'm reading all the free ones first.)

Still reading Les Mis. I'm at the part where Thenardier is holding Valjean captive, and Marius is deciding whether to shoot the gun or try and save Cosette. Wow, what a beautiful book...

I just finished one book, and now I'm pondering my next. Hmmm.... Do I want a classic, non-fic, or something modern? Oh, the possibilities!
