REAL BONES/ RITE TURN / BAALAU STEAKHOUSE
RED HASHHOSH SCARLET LAIKOI /
VERMILION CORPSE

1) T.V. Series/ Creator of series / Main Character
Literary work upon which T.V. Series is based /
Author of Literary Work

2) The words themselves might be hints.

3) Almost nobody refers to the literary work by its official name.

4) I friggin' hope I didn't screw up a letter.

5) If I didn't this is easier than it looks.

6) Had Louis and Claudia never left New Orleans, the title of this literary work would not have refered only to itself.

8) Should I take the lack of interest in this as a sign that this thread has gone south?

9) The show and the literary work have quite a bite.

10) One of the words (not "RED") has only two letters changed (and one of them has only been slid into another position).

11) The creator of this show did an earlier show. The earlier show is stiff competion with this one.

Should I take the lack of interest in this as a sign that this thread has gone south?

Not necessarily. This thread often goes through periods of relative inactivity, depending both on who's playing and on the subject matter. The subject matter here happens to be something I'm not familiar with--I'm not a big fan of TV series, and I have absolutely no interest in vampires. (I've done some Googling on this, but I'm not getting anywhere.) Another possible reason for lack of response so far is that your scramble has so many sections. Two or three sections in a scramble are the most we usually have--occasionally only one.

However, I will keep trying. :e2bike2:

I made it especially long as a joke. But being long actually makes it easier because I had more choices on making the clues relevant. And that worked as you figured (rightly or wrongly) that it has to do with vampires.

Once you figure out what the hints refer to (in your case you assume vampires, rightly or wrongly) there aren't too many t.v. shows based on books on the subject. Perhaps the currently most popular of said shows' title resembles "REAL BONES" so closely that even if you've never seen it, a quick google will show that the similarity between one of my other words and its corresponding solution is so strong, you must know you are so far correct. Simple google will give you the main character and the author and the creator.

Then comes the tedious part of crossing out letters and seeing whats left. That becomes the literary work's name. Of which, your first guess for two words should be obvious and you'd be right. A bit of thought as to what type of literary work would give you the fourth word. That'd leave you with just one word to go.

....
oh, and I wasn't commenting. I was giving a hint.

13) Title: the REAL BONES in the title is somewhat ironic as what it refers to, in terms of the show, is actually not REAL but synthetic.
Creator: RITE TURN is not known for making mason jars.
Main Charactor: BAALAU STEAKHOUSE doesn't work at a steakhouse. However her workplace does serve hamburgers (and fried pickles; how weird is that?)
Literary work: Hashhosh is not a direction you want to pursue but HASHHOSH is.
Author: I got nothing. She's alive. And, although not vermilion, her hair is reddish but surely that's just a coincidence.

Nooooooo, not at all ... I'm always here, and I know Nymtoc is. And others on and off, I think? I'm not always great at American things, and vampires are not exactly my niche, but I'm always watching even if I'm "stuck" ...

Well done, Sprogspasser! ;)

Noooooo!!!!

The letters don't actually match up with

REAL BONES/ RITE TURN / BAALAU STEAKHOUSE
RED HASHHOSH SCARLET LAIKOI /
VERMILION CORPSE

I didn't use any Ys and only one M and you have an extra T. Furthermore Mysteries has nine letters and LAIKOI only has six.

So that game is still on for anyone who pulls the carpet from under you!!

No more clues though!

That's it! Well done.

(and a good thing as I wasn't sure I'd be able to come up with any more hints.)
