A dark, evil place.
Anyone know anything about the new Stephen King?

I remember reading that it is expanded from an earlier short story of his. Haven't heard anything good or bad about it yet.

I'm going to pick it up in a couple of weeks (maybe on audio).

Duma Key.

I heard a rave review of it on NPR.
Cool, thanks! A new Stephen King is a thing of joy to anticipate! I did hear that it was a return to his best form. Yippee, basically!

Looking through some of the reviews, and...

Amazon calls it his best novel to date with the exception of the Dark Tower stuff? Wow.

This is going to sound cynical, but the concept just doesn't sound intriguing to me. Still, I think I'm going to have to pick it up this week.

I was thinking the same thing, Will, as I read. It seemed to echo his recent recuperation from his accident, until I got the the part about the paintings changing things in real life. I think it could be very interesting wielding that kind of power.

Nor am I. (But I've only read the first two.)

One thing about this book. Its premise does remind one of The Dead Zone, which I think is the finest King novel bar none.

Oo, I love DZ. Well, anyhow, I refuse not to be excited. I'm saving it for my holidays.
