Hi, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Liz (34) and I'm new to writing. I would've never in a million years thought it'd be something I would enjoy! Two years ago I got an idea for a story and decided to try putting it on paper. I am finishing it up now after lots of stops and starts, finally got it out to a few beta readers recently and got my first critique back tonight. It made me cry, not because of the suggestions for improvement, but because they called me a writer! Very excited!

Welcome, Lizzie!

Your story is the same as mine... I lived most of my life without an inkling of becoming a writer, and then one day, a story popped into my head. Now, almost a year later, I'm close to having a book in my hand with my name on it.

There's really nothing like it, is there?

I'd be happy to beta-read your story as well if you like! What's your story about?

Congrats! I am almost to the beta reader stage. I am kind of excited but terrified at the same time. I have pretty thick skin, but I am always worried about it anyway.

Welcome!

Hello,
Your story resonated with me. I had a similar experience. At an early age I wanted to write children's books but that dream was long lost along the way. At 32, with 2 young children, being a writer didn't seem like something that was possible for me. But, I got an idea for a story that for some reason begged to be written. I wrote it in one night and about 10 months and many edits later, here I am. I am actually now at a point where I need new eyes on it because after my last edit I have read it, put it away, read it (several times) and haven't come up with any changes.

Anyways, enough about me. Good luck to you and welcome!
