Polis Books

Has anyone heard back on a query or nudge yet? I was updating my records and noticed I'd queried Polis six months ago and completely forgot about it.

I nudged a couple of times. My submission is probably about a year old. I heard nothing back, I'd move on from this one (just my thoughts.)

I never heard back either. They're either no response is no, incredibly slow, or have email issues. No idea what, but I'd say just move on.

I queried Polis recently about a reprint. If I hear anything, I'll let you know.

I stumbled across them today and submitted. Hopefully they have caught up with their submissions. Ill report back when I hear something.

From their "about" page: "...due to the overwhelming volume of unsolicited submissions we can only respond to queries we have interest in."

Fair enough.

My records indicate no response on a YA fantasy 7--15--2013. So, for sure they only respond if they are piqued by the query. I think this rule has been in effect since their conception. Like mkassel wrote, "Fair enough."

I just popped off an adult thriller to them. We'll see what we see.

Look interesting. Been around since 2013. Pay advances yet take unsolicited subs.

Anyone have experience with them?

I submitted to them a few times and got nothing so far. Just crickets.

I'm surprised it's not on the AW list. I've known about this one for a while now.

I submitted to them in 2014 and never got an answer. I also nudged them after I received an offer for my book and still no reply.

I knew there was a thread.

My agent is submitted my MS to them a few weeks ago.
She said they take awhile to respond. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

Any new info on them?

My last submission to them was 10-16-2016. No answer. And no answer from three more previous subs on different books. Sorry there isn't more. In my case, they've never responded.

No prob, Lady. From most accounts, Polis is worth the effort to contact. Probably why it might be so hard to get aboard with them.
