Jennifer Mishler is on Query Tracker now. Yay! I don't see Frances Black up there yet, but I'm sure we will see her there soon, too.

Got a full request from Frances Black on 8/3 for my contemporary women's fiction.

Good luck to us all!

Karoline, no news is always better than bad news. :) Tell myself that to stay sane.

Yay, Tracy!

Good luck all!

No word for me yet either, Karoline. But having just read that blog post and the one before it about how they peruse fulls, I then had go back and reread my final chapter. I still love it, but it's so hard to know exactly how things look through the eyes of agent. I'm trying to be encouraged by the lack of a rejection at this point.... And as far as to comment or not to comment....I think I'm the wrong person to ask. I tend to approach this process as a strong silent type, but that hasn't gained me any success as of yet! If you're close to the 6 week mark (did it say that on their site), maybe you could comment. Like, "hey, here's hoping you found my full scrumptiously delicious, can't wait to hear!" These two women sound like they'd be fantastic to work with.

Thanks Tracy! I thought of posting something like that, too! I'll wait, though. Don't want to alienate them! Yes, they do sound great. Maybe we will both have good news. Mine is also womens fiction.

I know what you mean, I hate this image I always have of agents as delicate, flitting, rare birds, just barely in the hand before they fly away again. I hate how hopeful I always get when I have a full out!! And I'm seriously trying to talk myself out of dropping them a brief email, to mention that I've done a little editing and would they like to have the updated materials? I think I really shouldn't, it's true but it sounds like either a flimsy excuse to contact them, or else that I'm not confident in my ms. Just little things that you see, that can be reworded to sound better. Nothing huge. So, I shouldn't send an email, right? I didn't think so.... LOL

LOL. Knowing their sense of humor, they'd probably get a kick out of "full scrumptiously delicious". :)

But, you're right. If you pass the six-week mark, you can send a polite nudge email. Otherwise, hang tough. I know it's really hard, believe me, because after you sign with an agent comes the editorial submissions and...more waiting. It never seems to end.

Thanks Snappy. Yes, chocolate always helps! And all good advice, much appreciated. At this point, after all this time, I'd just really love to be on the other side of this hurdle. Well, I know I'm not alone!

Talked to Fran today! She wants to rep me, but wants some changes in my ms. I told her I'd have them done in a week. Hope they are what she wants!

I just wish their dealings with publishers were more firmly planted with major publishers. I see they've made deals with a few start-up publishers and I just hope these agents are doing their research before submitting their clients work.

I'm wondering about the deals in general. For example, they put up a release date along with a cover for Deborah Cloyed's What Tears Us Apart on their news page, but the initial deal with Harlequin Mira was never announced. So I'm guessing it could be months before we know about the deals being done right now.
With agencies, I prefer to know about the sales shortly after they happened.

I definitely know that Literary Counsel takes careful care to submit their clients' work to the right editors.

Hi, All!

I'm new to AW, so I thought I'd give everyone a shout out! I'm waiting to hear back from Jennifer Mishler at Literary Counsel. I hit the 3 wk mark on Sat, so it shouldn't be too much longer. I'm really excited! From what I've been able to dig up, Jennifer would be a great agent to have! Here's hoping! :)
