As much as I enjoyed it - and I did- they kind of went out of their way and over the top the first season to stress it was not for kids. Between the language and the nudity and the violence, it was like they were over-compensating.
Still good, though.
Yeah, kind of like Hellsing.
I like the original first thirteen episodes. It was definitely not for kids, but didn't surpass my gore tolerance.
Then they redid it as Hellsing OVA, and upped the blood. I didn't like the style change either.
Now they have Hellsing Ultimate. My eldest tells me they went for straight up horror this time. Alucard doesn't try to keep his civilized manners like he had in the original. Heavy on the blood. Not sure if I want to watch that one or not.

Alucard rocks. He's a total freaking psycho bastard (and currently in my avatar).
He's kind of like Spawn, except Spawn actually tries to save people.
Alucard is just there to kill monsters. If people get in the way, well, that's just a crying shame.

I've heard Cowboy Bebop is good, but I've never gotten around to finding it.
Usually I go for the medieval stuff, like Ninja Scroll, and Vampire Hunter D.

Hubby and I have this same problem. He wants to watch Dr. Who, and I want to watch Seven Swords.
At least we both like superhero movies. I won't have a problem getting him to go see the Avengers.

I don't remember your name coming up as having served as king of the Realm up to the point I got to before said "slacking off" occurred. So, you are (of course) royalty, but whether a prince or a lower title I can not ascertain. Please, enlighten the Court. Did you serve as king in the past, Sir Cole? Do you hold properties or titles, perhaps? Would you be a baron, a marquis, an earl, or perchance a duke? I will be happy to present you to her Majesty, Queen Wicked, if I can garner your proper title. You have not been honored to wear the crown recently, of a certainty. To that I can attest.
In the meantime, I will make sure the staff gets a suite of rooms ready for your use during your sojourn at the castle. I am sure you will wish to wash the road dust off of you before breakfast, which will be served shortly. Welcome to the castle.
