Thanks, Dee. I'll message you about it. I have to talk to my trustee to see if that would be earnings I would have to report. If so, it would end up being a moot point, since I'd have to turn the earnings over to the trustee. It's one of those crap points in time where I can't even get a part time job, because any earnings over my court-approved expenses, I don't get to keep.

That said, once it's discharged, I think that would be a better part time job than say house cleaning. (Because I don't think anybody's invented a self-cleaning house yet, Hester. :D)

{{Everyone in the Pit}} For allergies, illnesses, rejections, $ probs...

I have completely lost my voice from some sore throat thingie I have had. I sound like a cross between Demi Moore and Harvey Fierstein.

I'm going through the second round of edits for my ms and finding little phrases, words and whatnot that I repeat. A lot. That's a pet peeve of mine.

Red-I repped you.

Red - YES that means we're going to name an annex after you! How long do you have to give your 'extra' earnings to your trustee?

Cat ((hugs)) on the illness. Control+F is a writer's friend!

(((Red))) When I can't pay bills, I look at which ones 1) take the longest to shut off service 2) have the lowest late fees 3) do not automatically report late payments to credit bureaus. Cable shuts off immediately. Credit cards have the highest fees. Utilities are usually the best to pay late because the fees are low and you have to be a few months behind before they shut it off. I'd pay water/sewer last.

Pardon my Canadianness, but what happens if you don't pay for 'sewer' or 'garbage removal'? They just don't pick up your garbage? So...it then piles up and you become a hazard to your neighborhood? That doesn't make sense to me. And what happens if you don't pay for 'sewer'? I probably sound stupid here but I"ve never had to pay those bills (the services are prob just taken out of the copious amounts of tax dollars we shell out)

This has been a brutal spring infection. I and both my sisters have been through this, too. Though I was hoping I was more in the Demi Moore category, I was pure Harvey for a good week. Are you taking good care? No cold drinks. No dairy. Hot tea.

Red - YES that means we're going to name an annex after you! How long do you have to give your 'extra' earnings to your trustee?

Basically, all my "extra" earnings are open to trustee scrutiny until the turniptcy is discharged. This may be as early as August, but could be later. Depends on how zealous the trustee is. *prays for slacker*

This would normally be my equation, and I'd skip on the internet, except I decided to cancel the internet, and I was still all, hrm... which would be worse, to be without water for a few days or to be without air conditioning if the heat spikes badly? I don't mind the heat, but I fear for the dogs. Damned hairless cats LOVE the heat. When we lived in Florida, we just left the a/c off and would come home on 100 degree days to find the cats basking in a sunbeam. Anyway, it's going to get better. I have this on good authority.

Pitizens are really and truly the best people ever, and I don't care if the hellhounds bite me for that.

Yes, basically, if I just stopped paying the sewer/garbage bill, the city would stop picking up my trash and would turn off my water. It would probably take 2-3 months for that to happen, but it definitely does. Hell, my doggy daddy had the water turned off at his shop (where he lives, being homeless) for several months. He's managed to regain some ground financially and is up on payments now, but for those months, he borrowed a 5-gallon bucket from the quickie mart next door so he could flush his toilet and do some basic hygiene.

That just cracked me up.

Red, Kellion's advice matches up with what I know too. I'm sorry you're dealing with so much suck.

(((Cat))) Hope you feel better.

One of my good friends just got screwed over again by the university where she works. I'm fuming for her, but hoping this is the final kick in the butt she needs to look elsewhere. (Yeah, I know I'm one to talk, but she has a lot more options where she lives, and since she's only an adjunct, pretty much anything would pay more.)

Hugs on the pinkeye, Cat! (Now I will decontaminate myself)

Thinking of querying a small project again. I'm full of delusions and dread!

{{{Cat}}} Fire your doctor--pink eye is SO contagious.

Done with Maui, we're now in Kauai. Will post pix soon. Of course, couldn't be a vacay without some Pittishness...my credit card was declined. Why, you ask? Because someone was using it, charging escort services and the like. So I'm sans CC until I get home.

May have some news, although, nothing on the writing front, so no need for excitement. It could be life-changing, though....

I like this Pittism, especially in regards to querying.

My head is filled with sand--meant to post this earlier. Yay for querying! D&D is par for the course.

And yes, I believe the Pit's tentacles are far-reaching and know no bounds....

Madder is in Japan, and I believe she can confirm this.

Also, hope whoever used your card to hire escorts ends up with a "souvenir." :p
The "evidence for the wife" kind?

So some of you know I was hired for a music gig in NYC - turns out the client booked the wrong date. I ended up playing on the sidewalk and got $2. And my camcorder battery lost juice so no footage yet.
I mean, I do get reimbursed per the agency I got hired through, but honest to G-d, doesn't anyone have any professional courtesy out there? Well, why should they, right? But no whining - I got to play my heart out for lots of people tonight, and most of them were appreciative. That's what I wanted, not money.

Sorry, Mario about the mix up and the only $2. But at least you got to play what you love and do what you love- play your music. Positive thoughts, right?

(((Mario))) That stinks.

For good or bad, my delusions all passed before I was able to send any queries out. It's madness to query a picture book to agents. And to send it to the editor who is somewhat interested in my work? Scary. Once that hope is gone, it's not coming back.

(((Cat))) Pink eye sucks.

(((Cricket))) Pittish indeed. But hope the rest of vacation makes up for it. What is this news???

(((Mario))) Ugh, how infuriating.

Kellion, querying is a kind of brain fever, I think.

Did yard work all weekend, and got no revisions done. The yard needed it, but alas, so did my revisions. And unlike revisions would have, the yard work has set off my sciatica. Going to be a fun week.
