If you like weird/creepy/scary stuff, try "The River"

Ack! No, no, no.

God that was horrid. They pulled out every cliche they could get their hands on. Traded in legitimate scares for the cheap effects and the jitter cam. And that whole conceit about the reality show was just an excuse to have the characters turn to the camera for the sole purpose of infodumping.

And infodumping useless info at that, that was mostly "hey, this is a creepy local thing."

Seriously, I don't think they went five minutes without a horror cliche. Not even tropes. Cliches.

And I don't think they were attempting irony, just playing it straight.

It sucked.

Oh! With any luck, Project Save The Orchids will be coming to a close to tomorrow morning. The cord for the heater is in and they'll be here between 8:30 and noon to install.

Of course, since I have to be presentable by 8:30, they'll come at 11:45...

That always happens to me - arrange for the groceries to be delivered, clear the morning, and then they don't arrive until 12. And yay for saving the orchids. I've always thought that they're very pretty flowers

Trying to get to sleep are we? I wish I had chocolate liqueur. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to pack all my stuff. At the moment my room just looks like a bomb hit it.

STARGATE SG-MULTI-QUOTE

finished a short story today while sitting in the doctor's office, waiting for Mom.
Yay go you!

*stares into space* Yeeeess. And maybe Oded Fehr, too.
Mmmmm.... Oded Fehr... I have been in love with him since The Mummy...

The computer became less important because I had to spend the afternoon chasing a wild goose.
Of course Fen, since we know what your life is like, we have to ask:
A literal wild goose?

Had a meeting. Think I made a dude cry. I mean, he kept repeating, "That's a good question, a very good question." and became glassy-eyed and wandered right off afterwards. Poor dude.
You big meanie.

Psst. Stick it to the man! Make him burst into tears and cry for his mummy!! :D

And I still think the goose misunderstanding is hilarious. I'm all thinking I'ma cleaver with the words and everyone is all Literally?!??!!
See above, re: knowing what you're like :D

Well, that guys not the droid im looking for.

Could we get this added to the smilie list? Cos this lil' guy is great.

"Fen and Junely's Wholesale Slaughter and Conquest Services, LTD.

Fascist dictatorships our specialty!"

I'll take a card. You know, for... uh... reference. Yeah.

Afternoon folks. Lazy day is lazy. I took the day off work with vague dreams of getting some shopping/cleaning done and have instead lain in bed all morning watching TV.

Fun times.

Whut up?

Oh oh oh!! Also! The AW Antho is up on Amazoom! :hooray:

I think Fen will agree with me that we'll give you a 20% discount on Crimes Against Humanity, if you'll give us a kiosk in the Cantina!

I love how I drew one map once and now I'm solely in charge of real estate in the Cantina.

*sets up kiosk for Junely and Fen* :D

I am disturbed by how, from making one smartass comment, suddenly my brain is going, "How much does one charge for ethnic cleansing?"

I'll take the alcohol you offered Cobra. I am going to need it. Today I have to venture into the wilds of Damn Yankee Land: OHIO.

*shudder*

G'Morning, folks!

Morning cantinas :Sun:

Here's wishing everyone a free day.

Tea?
Coffee. :Coffee: Though, maybe tea later as I have some since tasty Oolong at home. All there have here is... urg... Lipton generic "tea"*. >.< Good if I'm desperate, but I can usually hold out until I can get home for the real deal.

*No offense to anyone who likes Lipton. They make a yummy iced tea power, I just can't stand their hot stuff.

And that smiley.... I think I'd vote for it to be the forum's new mascot. o_O

An arm and a leg? *rimshot* :e2brows:

The thing is, I'm not actually doing anything this morning; just waiting for my girls to get dressed and primped for their trip up to the University. So my brain has shifted into idle, and is now coasting through the most bizarre mental landscape.

In fact, it's actually considering the question fairly seriously. Like, should our unit of payment be a percentage of the Gross National Product of the vanquished nation? Ethnic Cleansing: 3% GNP. Crushing rebellious splinter groups: 10% GNP (those rebels can very costly to cope with).

And what about marketing? Who would be most interested in our services, and how do we go about advertising to that particular demographic?

I'd love a drink, but have to go into the office today. Thanks, though!

I don't see the problem, there.

Work can be made better through the judicious application of alcohol. Just enough to take the homicidal edge off, not enough to effect performance.
