Hello all. An inspiring writer here. Shocker! I know, right?

Anyways, I randomly stumbled across this forum, which has been very entertaining over the past few hours. I am currently working on a novel. I know, who isn't? But it's coming along nicely, at least by my standards. Don't really think too highly of myself as a writer, but I do enjoy it. So hopefully you'll be hearing more from me, and I'll be hearing more from you!

The main thing is that you enjoy writing.That will get you over a lot of the rough patches. As to your opinion of yourself, don't put yourself down (apart from the fact that there are lots of others will do this for you). Read back over your work and see whether you, pretending to be an unknown reader, would enjoy it. Is it cleaver? Are there surprises? Do you realise empathise with the characters? If the answers are 'tes' then you're getting there.

I'd suggest you hang around the SYW forum (Share Your Work) for a while and see some technical assistance being applied in real time. Later you might be brave enough to submit some of your own.
