My name is Adriana Dascalu and I am a Romanian writer and poet who prefers to write in English. My pieces have been published in magazines and anthologies both in the U.S. and Romania.

I love reading classic poetry and all sorts of fiction plus, I also have a deep fascination for mythology and folklore.

I work as a licensed translator and interpreter. I love photography, travelling and discovering cultural aspects of different civilizations.

In the last 10 years I've written about 400 poems and 600 haiku and I think it's time to consider publishing some of these.

I'm here also to improve my prose writing... I need to learn to finish what I start. It seems a good place for that.

So, hello all! Nice to meet you!

Welcome. This is a great place for learning to finish what you start (well, as long as you don't spend too much time here).

Thank you all for the warm welcome.
KellyAssauer, I've already read the Newbie Guide. As for the othre llinks I think They will be very useful, so thanks for helping me find my way around.

bluntforcetrauma: we have very good doctors. But they leave because of low payments and destroyed medical system in Romania.

regdog: thanks for the advice. I'm taking it slow, no hurry! I've waited ten years before considering publishing I'm not just gonna jump now over everybody's heads. i'm here for the directions - best I've found online - that's why I've joined.

rwm4768: let's just hope I don't get addicted to the forum and stop writing. You have a good point there. But I don't think it will happen - I have a hectic schedule for february but I'm going to make it all happen.

For now I'm takig my time around, I'll ask for help and info later, if I can't find it on my own.

See you all around! Thanks again for welcoming me!
